The deep-sea medusa Paraphyllina has a crimson pigment which may help mask bioluminescence of organisms which it has eaten. (Diameter approx. 7 cm). It is a close relative of Periphylla, the helmet jellyfish, and both species can make a spectacular luminescent display (lower image).
